Feelings First, Logic Next

This is Empathetic and Inclusive Storytelling at its finest. It includes a character with Down Syndrome who feels overwhelmed amidst a fun day with his peers. The story playfully and beautifully represents the emotional ordeal of the character Sunny, introduces a character who understands and acknowledges his feelings, and finally the message of consensual touching and play is conveyed to the group of kids as well as the audience.

The story teaches kids about inclusion, consent, and the power of feelings. It intends to include kids with special needs and differences in the storyline, without focusing on their differences, rather emphasizing on the values we all have in common. Feelings First, Logic Next represents the true spirit of an inclusive society, where I want to tell people that while differences can be part of the story, they are never the full story. Our compassion, understanding, and togetherness makes the full story.
