Chrysalis

Exploring the complexities of identity and modern desire, Chrysalis is a darkly comic and magical-realist short film set almost entirely within the intimate confines of a single kitchen. Returning home after a long day, a young woman stages a romantic evening for her partner. But as she scrolls through social media trends about the "girlfriend effect," a sharp wave of frustration sets in as she compares her stagnant reality to curated digital ideals. When her boyfriend finally arrives hours later in the middle of an existential crisis, a bizarre surreal transformation begins to unfold right before her eyes.
